Most part of the collection in the Library of Humanities is available in an open access. In the library, everyone can access subscribed online e-resources, trial access e-resources and open access e-resources. The Library is proud of German, English and American Literature Centre, which is based on University of Latvia Honorary Doctor Helmut Vinter’s book donations, important are Vieda Skultans collection of Anthropology books, Asian collection, which contains information resources about the Chinese and Japanese history, society, linguistics and literature, and Lithuanian literature reading room. At the Library of Humanities users can use a self-check system for taking and returning books. The Library provides united customer service of the Library of the University of Latvia. The building is located in the center of Riga, so it is easily accessible from all public transport stops. Students have free-of-charge access to local and international databases. (the list available at www.rakstiskatulkosana.lu.lv/tehniskais-nodrosinajums/) Access to the databases is provided both from the computers located at the UL and from those outside the UL computer network by using user names and passwords provided for every student of the UL.  The Department of Contrastive Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting has its own collection of dictionaries and books that are available to the students in Room 421 at Visvalža 4a.  The Department also publishes books and collections of articles for students. The library has a collection of books on Translation Studies, including e-books, available to students. Students can order literature on translation studies and thematic documents and literature on-line (see the list here). The Library of the Faculty of Humanities is the closest of the libraries accessible to the students as it is located in the same premises at Visvalža 4a, Riga LV-1050. It has the largest collection of literature on Translation Studies. Students of the Programme can use their student’s card to access other libraries, e.g., the Library of the University of Latvia at 4 Kalpaka Blvd., Riga, LV-1820, the Latvian Academic Library, Latvian National Library, Latvian Medical Library, Patent and Technology Library, the Library of the Stradins University of Riga and the Science Library of the Riga Technical University.
